Rock Bottom Reminders

This weekend I met Dave Barry, Scott Turrow,Amy Tan, Matt Groening and many other people who made a career using the written word.

This was the concert of the band Rock Bottom Reminders at the Los Angeles Book Festival which has free admission ($7 for parking, more $$ for meeting each author). The concert was free. This band is made up of all these authors, and according to Dave Barry, "We play music as well as Metallica writes novels."

Even though their web site says, "Hailed by critics as having one of the world's highest ratios of noise to talent", it was really a good concert. Here is a picture, and you can see Dave in the center and Matt Groening in the top right corner.

I am so jealous!

Was Stephen King there? He is part of the band too.

I am so jealous!

That made my day :)

No, King was not there. It seems there was some scheduling problemo.

I'd heard of them from some article written by Amy Tan.

Would love to showcase my non-voice as well ;-)

Hmmm. Us bloggers should get together for a little something, huh!
