When the first Palm Pilot came out, I was one of its enthusiastic users. But then over a period of time, I stopped using it. But recently I dusted the old Palm III and found that none of the new applications run on it (low memory). So I have been looking for a new PDA. After lot of research, I have finally settled on the Sony CLIE SJ-35
I have always found Sony CLIE to be much better looking than Palm devices. This one has an MP3 player also built in. Does anyone use an iPaq ? What's your experience with it ?

oh goodly!I too carried a IIIx for a long until it gave away one fine day! Since then Vx has been a comfy partner... but as U said It looks like its time to switch to color and get some value added features which Clie offers. A known of mine has few hooror stories abt Sony devices was some PG 75e etc... and their support et al. and till date she is still stuck with the defective model and waiting for a replacement! all the best to yrs! :)

Amit, If you look at the new PDAs they are quite complex devices with Camera, Bluetooth, 802.11 and what not. Also the higher end models are expensive than a desktop.
I was looking at iPaq cos they offer Bluetooth for the same price as a CLIE. But the drawback is they run Windows CE.

Hi JK,
I have used Palm III, then the Tungsten and now the iPaq 5550. iPaq is great (but its like having a truck to go for shopping! Those living in US might not find it much of an issue, with all that huge cars there ;-), so I now dont use it anymore as I used my Palm, rather as my mini-notebook working on documents (word, ppt, excel pdf) and all.
Palm has some nifty products that they have recently launched like the Zire 71 that you should look at. Some of my frnds how have used the Sony are not too happy with them! Esp they think that Sony has tried to put too many things in it that is kind of become overloaded! And they are expensive (ok half as much as the iPaq, but then my co. gave them..:-) )

I own a Ipaq 1910. It is awsome. Now a better one 1940 is available.

Pramod, looking at Ipaq, Sony Clie and Palm devices, I like Clie for the sleekness. Also feature wise, both Palm and Sony are almost the same.

I use an iPAQ and it's just too good. Only hazzle is that the battery runs oout too soon when i play songs on it without the headfone..which is ofcourse pardonable

Sruthijith, I looked at the iPaq, and liked the 1945 in particular. It has Bluetooth and so I don't need cables to sync it with my laptop and desktop. But then I Tungsten T3 offers me a bigger screen, which is great, if you are reading documents. You can use it in both portrait and landscape mode. So I still have not bought the PDA. But as soon as I buy one, Sony will come up with a great looking Clie
