Beginning Monday, the Times will begin charging $49.95 a year to people who don’t get the paper delivered at home for access to those writers as well as other columnists for the Times’ business, metro and sports sections.[N.Y. Cost of delivery news thru web is cheap(atleast text). Newspapers dont have a solid strategy to generate revenue from their web sites. They can start out cheap to attract audiences. After that based on the volumes they can increase the prices or keep it same. If they are going to be greedy then they will lose out market to websites like Google News.
NY Times marketing guys must have lost it.
Ha, the funny thing is that Friedman is syndicated all around the world and you can read his columns for free in Indian Express.
